Ellie's Trauma

Yesterday we went to church early so we could see our friends bless their baby.  The blessing was in the bishops office.  Once the blessing was over, the Bishop let the kids have a peppermint candy for being so good and quiet.  As we were getting ready to head out, we were all paying attention to the cute baby, when all of the sudden, Ellie was crying.  I look over at her and she is all red.  Then Brother Gueblin of our bishopric said that he had noticed her quietly freaking out, so examined her more closely and noticed she was choking.  So he jumped behind her and gave her the hymlic.  It only took one try and her mint popped out.  Thank goodnees Brother G noticed our daughter about to die.  None of us were paying her any attention, and it isn't like she could scream and yell to get our attenion.  Poor girl.  I wish this episode would deter her from eating sweets, but she kept on eating her candy once it wasn't blocking her airway.  You just can't waste a good piece of candy.

Red Robin Club

I just want to say how much I love the Red Robin club.  You go online and sign up your family and give them all your birthdays, and they send you free food on your birthday.  I love it.

Today we took the whole family to redeem my free hamburger and I don't know what was up, but we had the best experience there.  Our waitress was so awesome.  She brought fries to our table immediately, which helps keep the baby happy, she got our food out quickly, kept up on our pops, told the kids if they wanted refills on their spaghetti and mac&cheese that she would get it(any other time we've asked for more they said they would have to charge us), and after dinner she brought out my free sundae for my birthday, but brought 2 extras so the kids could have some too.  And the best part was...... after all that, our bill was only $23.90!!!  23.90 for 6 people.  CRAZY.  Of course we way over tipped her, but what a fun and cheap night.  I can't wait for the next birthday so we can go back.  Hurry up and sign your family up for the Red Robin club.

Birthday Wishes

I love facebook.   When you're on it, you get these little reminders that it is someones birthday.  That said, I got like 20 birthday comments yesterday, and I loved it.  Everytime I checked my email, I would have all these posts from facebook that so and so left a comment.  I know it is little but it made me happy.  Then I had Louise and my friend Tanya devote a whole post on their blogs to me.  How fun is that?

My Mom and her friend took me to lunch at the Truffle Hunter and the family went to Wallstreet Pizza for dinner.  Yummy.  I don't know how you could top that.  And my lunches aren't over.  My friends are taking me to lunch on Friday, and another girlfriend is taking me tomorrow.  I love LUNCH!
So thanks for a great birthday.  My family and friends are great.

The Wii

Our kids got a Wii from their Granny and Pa. It has been really fun for all of us to play. My brother has a Wii fit board, so he is letting us borrow it. It is hilarious to see the little Mii get all round. But Gavin hates it when the kids use it. He tries to push them off.

Christmas Morning

Here are some random pics from Christmas morning. Enjoy.

Christmas Eve

For us, Christmas Eve means a wonderful dinner, a special visit from Santa, opening up our Christmas pajamas, singing Christmas carols and hearing the story of Jesus' birth. There was a slight kink when we heard Leigh's fight, that was supposed to come in at 3:45 was delayed, then canceled, then back to delayed. But she came in time for the festivities.

See these pajamas? I made them with my own hands! And with Tanya's help. Thanks Tanya!

Lots of singing!!!

The Throne

When Leigh was here, she made sure to bring her snow clothes so she could go out and play with the kids.  I don't have snow clothes, so Gavin and I watched from the window.  Leigh and the kids got really creative especially when they asked me for some blue food coloring.  I couldn't see what they were making, and wasn't allowed to look until they were finished.  Once I came out, I laughed and laughed.

Behold, the Throne!
